Vaping News Story |
This project was the original project I started this year, but this project was so big of an undertaking that we had to put it on the back burner so we could get one other project. I worked on this project with Madison and Eric. It was a great group, we worked well together and we had fun along the way. When we started this we were told that we needed to do a video with an interview, so we decided to do the musical since it was going on when we were creating this video. We learned how to make a good interview and how to work together to get good shots during the interview without the person having to repeat themselves. We got the interviews done pretty quickly, but we decided we needed a slight break so we all worked on different projects. Once those were done we got back to work on this project. Editing took a very long time, we had tried at least three different intro for the video before finally creating the current one. At the beginning, we didn’t exactly know what we wanted from this video, which did make it slightly harder to edit it that way. Once we all buckled down to work on the project it took a little over a month to edit it. We are all happy and proud of what we created.

This was the first project of the year that I have finished. We were put into groups of three. My group consisted of Alexis, Taylor, and me. It had to either be a news story or something within our community. So we chose the topic vaping as it is known both inside and outside our town. It talks about how raising the vaping age to 21 and how it would affect the amount of people who vape during school. In the video we talked about how vaping is an issue and what our school is doing to help stop vaping. Most of what we had to do for this video was get interviews with teachers and the principle. Getting the interviews themselves were easy, but finding an hour where the teachers weren't teaching and when my group had an hour that could film the interviews. Once we got those we got B-roll, which was easy because there are vaping posters up throughout our school. We also went to the local gas station and filmed any posters they had and their vapes. Overall, it was a pretty easy project to get done and out of the way so my other group could continue working on our other projects.

One Star NewsThis was our final project for the year, we decided to all work together on it. For this project we started using the TriCaster which helped us make a news like video. All of clips were in the green screen room except for Josh falling down the stairs. This video was made to look like a bad news channel, hence the name, who were really bad at their jobs. It took almost an entire week to get all of the clips, and then another week to edit the video. The bloopers at the end of the video used to be about two times the size of the actual video. We had such a blast creating this video, and it was a good one to end on for the year.
Inside OutThis was a video that Eric and I worked on. We took one day to get all of the clips, then we brought them into Premiere. We didn't have time that day to get started, so we started the next day. It took two days to edit my video. There is not much more to say about this video. You should watch the video to see what I mean.
Suicide PSAThis is a PSA that Eric and I created. The project we had to do was created a PSA. While we searching for ideas we both that making it on suicide would be a good idea. In the beginning we had a lot more shots that we knew we wouldn't be able to get them all. In the end as time started to run we decided that the video would have the same effect that we originally wanted with the shots we put in the video. In the end I'm really happy with the video.
Short Chase SceneThe Short Chase Scene was our latest project. The project was to make a chase scene around the school. Eric and I worked on this project and barely got it done in time because most of the time one of us was sick or on a school trip of sorts. We ended up having to cut out some shots of the chase because there wasn't going to be enough time to get the shots the we wanted. But in the end the project we made was pretty good.

HeadphonesWe started using a new software, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, so this was a test video of filming a random object and messing around with the video in Premiere. I did headphones because they were just laying around the room and it seemed easy enough to film. So I just went around the school and got random clips of these headphones, then I brought them into Premiere and just messed around with it for the next two days. I didn't upload this video because it was just for fun.
Banana TosserThe Banana Tosser was a commercial project that we just made
for fun. My original fell through so I had to come up with another idea fairly quickly. My friends was getting rid of this banana. A thought came in my head to use with so I did. My first idea was a self-moving lawn mower that will mow the lawn for you. But time started running out so I had to make a new idea, that's when the Banana Tosser idea came to my head. Dream Pillow CommercialFor this project we were told to create a radio commercial. While looking through ideas, I found something about another pillow and for some reason this idea popped into my head. It was a pillow that could help you continue your dreams from previous nights, which you might have even forgot about. Overall, the project went pretty smoothly from there.
Parallel ActionThis was one of our first projects. We were learning about parallel action. Mr. Holt gave us the clips and told us to edit them however they wanted but we had make parallel action. So that's what I did. It's not the greatest because this was our first full video that we edited together.
